MIKE RANTA
-Canadian Adventure Icon-
Mike’s mission is to circumnavigate Great Bear Lake with his trusty dog Mitsi. He’s hoping to raise money and awareness for Warrior Adventures Canada along the way - if you would like to donate to WAC please use the link below:
Mike has been paddling a canoe solo since he was NINE years old in his hometown of Atikoken, Ontario - the canoe capitol of Canada. Over the past few decades, Mike has done some absolutely epic canoe adventures exploring the remote wilderness of Canada’s waterways. He holds the record for the first person to cross North America in a canoe in one season and has crossed Canada with his canoe and trusty dog - THREE TIMES!
Mike’s positive attitude, true grit and sense of humor leaves a wake of smiles behind him as he excitedly engages with the communities that he travels through. We here at Warrior Adventures Canada believe that Mike embodies the true Canadian spirt and are proud to call Mike our friend!
His current mission: to circumnavigate Great Bear Lake in 12 weeks with his loyal companion Mitsi. Great Bear Lake happens to be the biggest lake entirely in Canada, and the 8th largest lake in the world. This is an arduous task, full of risk and hardship - but no doubt full of adventure and stories that we can’t wait to hear when he returns. Thank you Mike Ranta for all you do.. we appreciate you brother!
