Is this trip for you?

This adventure is for any retired or serving military members and first responders. This is a peer support program, the trip is lead by veterans and first responder guides. The goal of the adventure is for you to learn and grow. To learn about yourself, mental resiliency, and how to better combat post traumatic stress, operational stress, fatigue, and the challenges of daily life. Our classroom will be the Dumoine River valley, and our tools will be our canoes and packs. You do not need to be diagnosed with PTSD to join this adventure.

Our team of 16 will spend 2 days training and preparing for the trip and 6 days canoeing down the Dumoine River in a remote part of Quebec. We will be completely self-sufficient and cut off from the rest for world. The perfect setting to learn about ourselves, connect with like-minded people, and get a better perspective about what’s important in life.

Program Itinerary

Days 1-2 The trip will begin with guides and participants meeting in Ontario (location TBD). We will spend 2 days covering the basics of canoeing and backcountry camping. Together we will prepare our equipment and get to know each other before stepping off on our journey.

Days 3-8 Our adventure will take us deep into the Quebec back country. We’ll be paddling and portaging to a new location everyday while practicing and learning new skills. From whitewater paddling to mental resiliency, these skills will help our team accomplish the tasks and challenges we will face during a week in the wilderness. Each day is wrapped up by daily after actions and group chats about lessons learned and personal reflections.

Finish Once our trip is complete, there will be a recap of the trip by the guides, highlighting some of the important moments of the trip. We will share some laughs as we eat our last meal together, and reminisce about our adventure. Everyone that completes a Warrior Adventures Canada trip will become a member of our growing network and online community.
